You specify the discipline, region, credential type, and experience level to query rate benchmarks. For project cost benchmarks, you provide the project type, building classification, region, and year. Workforce analytics are available by discipline and MSA. Hiring predictions require a project type, construction phase, and approximate project size. All queries support date range filtering to compare current benchmarks against historical quarters.

The quarterly trend report covers rate movement by discipline and region, cert hot spots (where credentialed professionals are in shortest supply), project cost benchmarks normalized to RSMeans, workforce gap scores showing where qualified labor is scarce and driving wage inflation, hiring predictions for the next quarter by project type, and specialty market alerts for emerging demand in areas like decarbonization, electrification, and water infrastructure. Each report is downloadable as a PDF or exported as a data package for internal BI tools.

Rate benchmarks aggregate actual billing data from Buildtal's project cost database and talent lending network, normalized by discipline, region, credential, and experience level. They show P25, P50, P75, and average rates. Data is refreshed quarterly and historical snapshots are preserved so you can track rate trend lines across multiple years. Benchmarks are RSMeans-adjusted to control for regional cost-of-living differences so you can compare markets on a like-for-like basis.
